Privacy Policy
It is important to us that you always know what information we obtain about you in the scope of the use of the Darkness Blade services and what this information is used for. In the Privacy Policy below, we therefore aim to keep you fully informed as to the type, extent and purpose of the collection, storage, use and processing of personal data on our events, websites, mobile platforms and online products and/or services, including PC, online and mobile games.
This Privacy Policy applies to our website (
darknessblade.com or "Website") and any of its related products, games, computer software and services (collectively, "Services"). This Privacy Policy does not apply to data which becomes known to us as part of job applications or in any other manner outside the use of the Services. This Privacy Policy also does not apply to the websites and services of other providers, to which any of our websites or any of our Services might link. We recommend that you read the privacy policy of every other service provider you make use of, in particular before you make your personal data available to them.
The minimum age to create a Darkness Blade user account (“Account”) or to use our Services is 18. Insofar as certain countries or currently active laws in your region apply a higher age of consent for the collection of personal data, Darkness Blade requires you to be above that threshold
(Read our
Terms of Use for more details).
In the event of a merge, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy or other similar event, we will make an announcement in advance, disclose the details of the event and information about the successor, and with the express consent of you, your personal data may transfer to the successor of Darkness Blade. Darkness Blade may periodically modify, adjust or revise the terms of this Privacy Policy. You acknowledge and agree that it is your responsibility to check on your own the terms regularly. If major clause changes are involved, we will announce to you the updated terms and obtain your consent again. Changes to this Privacy Policy will come into effect immediately upon such changes being uploaded in the Services or to our Websites. You can access this Privacy Policy at any time on our websites.
If at any point for any reason you do not agree to any portion of the then-current version of our Privacy Policy, or any other Darkness Blade policy, rules or codes of conduct relating to your use of the Website and/or Services, your license to use the Website and Services shall immediately terminate and you must immediately remove any software installed on your computer or device and stop using the Website and Services.

1) What information we collect and why.
1-1) Basic user data we Collect and Process
The particular kinds of info we gather usually depend on how you interact with us, like which Darkness Blade Services you use and how you do so.
We collect info you enter or otherwise provide on the Darkness Blade Services, including:
- During your Account registration or modification requests we gather some or all of the following information:
Email
Username
Password
Confirmation that you are 18 or older
Internet Protocol (IP) Address
Date and Time
We use this information to create the account for your usage of our Services as you request and to later on identify you as the original user of this account.
- Your email, password, and other details that help us secure and provide access to the Darkness Blade Services (like when you login to our Services or Websites).
- Your name, billing address, telephone number, payment method, and other details we collect to help process purchases you make (like when you buy Darkness Blade Points or shop at our Merch Store).
- Your support and contact related info, including the nature of your concern and your account or order details (like when you request to contact us, such as by sending us an email).
- Your preferences, interests, and general demographic info (such as your hobbies, favorite games, or other info you share, like when you respond to a survey).
- Info you share with us in connection with contests or promotions (like to submit an entry, prove your eligibility, or claim a prize if you win).
- Info you decide to give us (which may include info about your health and other “sensitive” info) so that we can better make the Darkness Blade Services accessible to you by accommodating specific needs you may have, such as being deaf, hard of hearing, blind or visually impaired.
- Your Darkness Blade account info (like your preferred game settings, key bindings, friends list).
1-2) General user data we and others might Collect and Process
- If you disclose any information relating to other people to us or to our service providers in connection with the Darkness Blade Services, you represent that you have the authority to do so and to permit us to use the information in accordance with this privacy policy.
- The Darkness Blade Services also offer social features like voice and text chat (read more in
Other Users of our Services and the General Public below). When you use these features, the info you share may be seen or overheard by others. We may collect and use the info you provide, including to enforce our
Terms of Use (such as described in
Anti-Cheat & Fraud & User Behavior and
Security below), and in some cases it may also be collected or used by others without your knowledge (for example, if you’re chatting with another player while they stream a match).
- Your web browser or client software may transmit certain geographic information or information regarding your computer (capabilities, game data processing, etc.) to Darkness Blade. Darkness Blade may use this information to generate aggregate statistics about our user community. In addition, Darkness Blade may use such information for security, system integrity (the prevention of hacking, cheats, etc.), or enforcement purposes including to enforce our
Terms of Use (such as described in
Anti-Cheat & Fraud & User Behavior and
Security below).
- In order to buy Virtual Currency for use in some of our Services, further information will generally have to be provided to the chosen payment service provider in the course of the payment process. We do not, however, receive and/or process any of your actual payment details such as card number or security code. We only keep the data concerning transaction date, currency, cost, and product(s) purchased (read more in
Third-Party Contractors below).
We may also receive, process and store the provided information from you and/or such third-party payment contractors to confirm payment, record purchase history and/or protect our legitimate interest when resolving subsequent payment disputes and inquiries. Notwithstanding the foregoing, if you make any payments in using our Services, any of your payment details are fully handled by the relevant payment service provider.
When you play multiplayer games like the ones we provide, note that some info will be publicly accessible to others (such as described in
Other Users of our Services and the General Public below). We may record gameplay and related info (such as your in-game name and in-game actions), and replay or otherwise make it available to other players without further notice to you. Furthermore we may use your in-game actions, gameplay strategies and match history to develop and improve Artificial Intelligence bots, that we later on might use as content for our games. Currently we do not train, develop or improve Artificial Intelligence bots based on your in-game activities but we have plan to do so in the future. When that happens we will make sure to first notify you and get your consent.
- Your game statistics aid the evaluation of your skill level and the creation of a ranking in relation to other users. Insofar as you participate in tournaments or other online game events, the statistical data generated by your participation (such as, for example, your results, placings and successes) will be visible, under your username, to other users of our services. We use this information for the creation and publication of rankings and comparison lists to highlight the competitive nature of our games, which is an essential factor of our Services.
2) How we collect information.
2-1) Information You Provide
We collect info you choose to provide or give to us in any manner. You don’t have to share info when we ask you for it, but if you decline, you might not be able to access certain Darkness Blade Services or take advantage of their full functionality.
2-2) Information We Collect Automatically
We automatically collect some info about how you interact with and navigate the Darkness Blade Services, as well as the device and software you use to do so.
Common examples include info regarding:
- Your use of the Darkness Blade Services (such as timestamps, clicks, scrolling, browsing times, browsing heatmaps, searches, referral/exit pages, and activity and interactions in our game clients, including chat logs).
- Your computer or device (such as IP addresses, unique device IDs, processing capabilities, manufacturer and model, language and other regional settings, geographic location, and screen resolution and similar settings).

- How the Darkness Blade Services perform, including problems you may encounter (such as loading errors and response times).
2-3) Information We Collect From Third Parties
Sometimes we obtain info from third parties to use along with the info we collect.
Darkness Blade may enhance or merge the personal information collected at a Darkness Blade website with data from third parties in order to update your contact information, perform market analysis, or improve our products, services, or systems.
One such example is Google Analytics,
we use Google Analytics on our websites, a web analytics tool from Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA ("Google"). Google Analytics uses "cookies" which are stored on your PC and which enable an analysis of your use of our website. The information obtained by the cookies about your use of our website will generally be transmitted to a server in the EU and stored there. We use Google Analytics on our websites, however, with an IP anonymisation tool, with which your IP address, when collected by Google Analytics, will, in member states of the European Union or in other states which are party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area, be masked beforehand, and thus the collected information will be exclusively transmitted by Google in anonymised form. Google uses the collected information to statistically evaluate your use of our website for us, to create reports on website activities and to provide further services related to the website and the internet usage for us. The IP address transmitted by your browser in the scope of Google Analytics will not be combined with other data from Google. Please note that Google Analytics information is often disclosed to marketing agency partners that take the data to optimize marketing campaigns.
You can deactivate the Google Analytics function with a browser add-on, which you can download at
https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. To do this you must install that browser add-on. This will prevent the analysis information from being sent to Google.
3) How we store collected information and if we share with anyone and why.
3-1) Cookies & Related storage Technologies
We may use technologies like cookies, scripts, and our own servers to help us collect and store your info, including in log files.
“Cookies” are small pieces of data that online services you use place on your device for record-keeping and identification purposes.
(You can read more about the cookies we use and their purpose in our
Cookies Policy.)
“Web beacons” are transparent pixel images that allow online services to collect info about the ways you interact with them (like whether you’ve opened an email or clicked on an ad).
Similar common technologies include things like sessions, tags, scripts, local shared objects, local storage (e.g., HTML5), and related tools.
3-2) Security
We’re committed to securing user info and complying with our obligations towards applicable data protection laws, but can’t absolutely guarantee the security of any data we collect from you. By choosing to share info with us (or anybody else online these days), you’re acknowledging this risk.
We use appropriate physical, technical, and organizational security safeguards to help protect your info from unauthorized access, destruction, use, modification, or disclosure both during transmission and in storage. For example, we use technologies like encryption and hashing to protect some of the info we collect including your passwords, we also use SSL secure connections whenever possible for keeping an internet connection secure and safeguard any sensitive data that is being sent between your system and our servers.
Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. While we strive to protect your personal data, we also remind you to be aware of hacking, cyber-attacks, and other risks on the Internet.
We can’t guarantee the security of any info transmitted through our Services and make no assurances about our ability to prevent any such loss or misuse.
Therefore, we strongly urge you to take every possible precaution to protect your personal data when using our Services, including but not limited to changing your passwords from time to time, not reflecting your real name or other personal data in your Account registration or any other Darkness Blade Services that offer social features like voice and text chat (read more in
Other Users of our Services and the General Public below), using a combination of letters and numbers when creating passwords, using a secure browser and/or taking other possible security measures.
Please be aware that advertisers or websites with links to and/or from our websites may collect personal data about you and this Privacy Policy does not apply to, and cannot control the activities of, those other advertisers or websites. We highly recommend that you read the privacy policy of such third-party websites which you may be directed to before providing any personal data.
When using our Services, from time to time you will be given the option to use social features like voice and text chat (read more in
Other Users of our Services and the General Public below). Any Information you disclose in any of these social features is public information and can be seen, read, heard by other users of the relevant Service. Due to the nature of such information, transmission between your system and our servers is not encrypted and we cannot ensure the protection or confidential treatment of such information.
3-3) How long is your data stored
The data will generally be stored to the Darkness Blade Account until the account is deleted. Where the use is subject to declarations of consent, it will be stored until receipt of a notification of revocation, but not longer than the existence of your account.
Please note that we may be obligated, on the basis of statutory obligations, in particular provisions relating to tax law and commercial regulations, to archive the relevant personal data even beyond the effective date of your revocation or deletion of your account. The data will be deleted after the relevant statutory time period. Under specific tax laws, we are obligated to store relevant information for up to ten years. For example, this is related to all information from commercial letters, invoices, and ledgers. Occasionally, these may contain your personal data.
Besides those statutory obligations, we are entitled to store your personal data for specific cases. The end of the storing period depends on the purpose for which we still need your personal data. This means we store your personal data for at least the duration of our relationship with you as our customer. However, we are permitted to store personal data for longer where permitted by law, such as to bring, or defend ourselves against, legal claims. This retention period relates to the respective periods set forth by a given statute of limitation. We delete your personal data 21 days after you delete or revoke your account unless we are otherwise permitted or required to retain that data by law.
3-4) Who can access your data
Generally, your data is processed exclusively by us including Darkness Blade-controlled subsidiaries and affiliates that provide services to us so we can more seamlessly operate, support, and improve our Services. We do not pass on any personal user data to third parties unless we need to do so in order to offer you certain Services.
3-4-1) Third-Party Contractors
Darkness Blade does not, provide your personal information in direct exchange for money. However in order to provide our Services, we work with a number of (if any) third parties, vendors and partners that provide goods and services (e.g. platform providers, media partners, event ticket providers, tournament providers, survey providers, merchandise vendors, licensees, payment service providers, hosting providers) who may, in the course of providing the respective service, receive and process personal data on our instruction and on the basis of a commissioned data processing agreement.
We do not share Information with vendors to use for their own direct marketing purposes or any other purpose other than those set out in this section without your consent.
Besides, such contractors may use cookies, web beacons, and/or other tracking technologies to collect or receive data about you and might claim the data controller rights over your personal data. For example, users purchasing and/or subscribing products or services will be required to provide additional data to third-party payment contractors, such as a valid credit card number and expiration date. Such third-party payment contractors may collect, process and retain your data to process payments and resolve subsequent payment disputes and inquiries. Each third-party has its own privacy policy and security measures for processing data and information, please refer directly to their privacy policies on their official websites and learn more about their data processing practices.
Additional data concerning third-party payment contractors, such as a valid credit card number and expiration date will be collected and processed by the relevant payment service provider (e.g. PayPal, Paysafecard, etc.) in accordance with their privacy policy. For a successful transfer of the requested payment, the payment service provider may request from us certain personal data, processed by us, such as your IP address or Email. Such data will be transferred to the payment service provider only when necessary to process or correct a billing matter, and will not be used for other purposes once the matter is resolved. Please read the privacy policy of the relevant payment service provider before effecting the transaction. We merely receive a transaction confirmation from the payment service provider, which confirms the payment to us and enables us, if necessary (e.g. in the event of a legal dispute), to obtain further payment details in accordance with the privacy policy of the payment service provider.
We may also disclose your personal data to professional advisors (such as legal advisors and accountants) or auditors for the purpose of providing professional services to us.

6) Anti-Cheat & Fraud & User Behavior.
We always seek to offer our Users a fair, fun, and competitive experience when using our Services. Our
Terms of Use strictly prohibit use of unauthorized third-party programs that interact with our Services, including mods, hacks, cheats, scripts, bots, trainers, and automation programs.
When you create or use a Darkness Blade Account, purchase things from us, play our games, or otherwise interact with our Services, we may use anti-cheat and fraud prevention technologies (such as anti-cheat software that may run in the background of your device), that may make automated decisions (such as temporary or permanent account suspensions, communications restrictions, removal of content, or limited access to game content)
based on the info we collect from or about you (
What information we collect and why). We engage in these activities to manage our contractual relationship with you, to comply with a legal obligation (e.g. to keep our Services secure), and/or because we have a legitimate interest (e.g. understanding how our Services are used, keeping them secure, and improving them).
Whenever you use our game related Services, the anti-cheating software checks the course of your game, the game files, and the working memory (RAM) of your hardware (when operating) to identify unauthorised third party programs running simultaneously with your game and modifications to game files which facilitate or support cheating.
